 I love English since I was in junior high. The best way to improve speaking and understand western culture is to study English abroad, but it’s ironic I’ve never been to English-speaking countries.
I am lucky to have an English-related job, but speaking and western cultures are my weak spots. I’ve been trying to improve them by creating study groups for reading English novels, watching movies and practicing English speaking. I did benefit from the study groups, but always feel something wrong. There are no native speakers among us, and two hours per week aren’t enough to immerse myself in English.
Prince Edward Island is a safe and beautiful place. It must be exciting to live in the setting of the novel Anne of Green Gables. Homestay is also attractive to me. I could share what happened everyday with host family and eat local foods at home. It means English talking and western culture classes all day long. Such a no-chinese life means a lot to me.

Hors d'oevres are appetizers or finger-food. We would serve Hors d'oevres when we were having people over for dinner, and while you wait for dinner to be ready, we give them a little "bite" of something to eat.
